Gephardt misses Head Start Vote

Gephardt missed the vote on dismantling Head Start - and the measure passed by a single vote. I don't care if this is likely to die in the Senate - Gephardt could have killed it in the House. Why would I vote for a man who thinks trolling for campaign donors is mor eimportant than a vote to preserve one of the most effective and vital government programs in history?

I recall reading he'd been absent from 86ish% of votes somewhere.

Any congressman, of any level, missing more than, say, 10-15% of their votes should not be reelected. In fact, it'd be nice if there were provisions to kick them out for missing so many votes...

In partial answer to SayUncle's, query about where to find Gephardt's voting %, you can at least find his voting RECORD here:

He's not so hot. Just fair to middlin' on liberal causes. I still don't like him.
