Can someone tell me why these people are so paranoid about MWO? I mean, it’s not like they are that powerful or well-known. And it’s hardly as if, “Write to Mickey Kaus and ask him why he doesn’t print the truth about x,” on a private website, is more dangerous than, say, “Al Gore is trying to steal the election,” in the nation’s most respected newspapers or most widely-heard radio shows.

I think their problem with MWO is two fold. First, they aren’t used to criticism that generates action. MWO does get letters written, and does subject their work to real, valid, harsh criticism.

Second, they operate under the theory that you must crush any dissent before it can get a foot hold. I think it bothers them that a leftist wont roll over and die, like he is supposed to. I think that was also the source of the almost incoherent rage against Clinton – he fought back. One must never question the privileges of God’s Anointed Party. It simply is not done.
