Any animal that urinates on furniture, people, clothing, etc., is downright disgusting. Cats are usually the culprits of this disgusting act. I get sick of hearing people say how "clean" cats are, when really, they are not. Think about it seriously: They go in their litterboxes and defecate and urinate, then they walk through their waste. Then they walk on your countertops, beds, tables, sofas, etc., with their dirty, filthy feet. That's clean? If that's clean, then cat people are more disgusting than I thought they were. I have a friend who is so lazy, that her cat actually vomited on her kitchen table, which is cluttered with papers, bowls, and other junk. That was several months ago, and guess what? The vomit is still there! To add insult to injury, this woman has a child! So she is subjecting her kid to a plethora of infections and diseases, some of which can be potentially fatal. But oh, she just loves her "feral" little kitties. People like this make me sick. And when I hear someone tell me how CLEAN cats are, I have to walk away, otherwise I get the urge to give them a reality slap to the head. Cats suck.

I have been rescueing (trying to help find vet care and homes) for abandoned and stray dogs and cats for many years,( totalling over 160 cats and dogs that I have found a home or at least vet care and/or an agency to take over for ) and and have been a cat owner for most of my life.

It is unusual for a cat to urinate on a person but I've heard of it. it makes more sense when realizing you were in bed asleep and that the cat has been urinating in inappropriate spots. it may have been writing its name on you so to speak but was more likely in pain and confused.
I have experienced many times that when cats find urination painful they will sometimes associate that with the litter box and try different spots, especially a soft to the touch area thats completely different than the hardness of the sandy litter... they may also have strong urges at different times and become confused about the whole issue especially if they are experiencing frequent pain and urges to pee.
The zoloft might actually work for several reasons...for one some of the latest research about cats and urinary issues is in the area of a disease that mimics a urinary tract infection with painful urination , frequent urges to go, and will have proteins or blood in urine samples but is actually and inflamation of the lining of the urinary tract and is instigated by stress hormones! of course the zoloft keeps the cat from being so stressed and can stop the problem by stopping the release of the stress hormones. also if it is more behavior related zoloft can help there as well. also having several pristine litter boxes and trying to keep stressors out of the cats world...ie interactions with rival or strange cats or dogs or changes in enviroment or food...loud noise, lack of attention from you. Diet can also affect your cat negatively...sometimes changing to a better quality wet food which does not contain grains can work wonders...if you change the food do it slowly as that is a major change that can add stress...if you do it gradually ...they dont seem to notice.
I know that it may seem like a lot of trouble to go to for a pet but actually its just trying to understand the problem...better to try and figure out the cause of the problem and fix it than having ruined items and constantly having to clean or resurface areas of your home. good luck.

What is it with people who have cats? And they usually don't just have ONE cat, they have to have two, three, four, sometimes more of the damned lazy things. To me, a cat is a lazy person's pet. Think about it. You don't really need to play with a cat. Actually, they would much rather spend their time hiding and sleeping. They piss and shit in a litterbox, which, if the owner is decent, will get cleaned on a daily basis. Most cat owners I know only clean that wretched litterbox once a week. How lovely, the smell of cat piss assaulting your nose! Cats are sneaky; they crawl behind your neck. And for the love of all that's natural: STOP LETTING YOUR DAMNED CATS OUT "TO HUNT." You know who you are: the same people who claim to be Pagan/Wiccan. You are not true followers of the faith if you allow your nasty cats to go out and KILL other creatures. Cats are nothing more than killing machines. It actually makes me so happy when I see a dead cat on the road because I know that some butthole had let the damn thing out "to hunt" and their cat got bitchslapped by Karma. Good for you, and good for your stupid, bloodthirsty cat! I could go on and on for hours on the subject, but I'll let it stop here. Keep your stupid cats IN THE HOUSE. DOMESTIC means IN THE HOUSE - DOMICILE, get it?

Instead of putting her down, see if you can find a local cat rescue. They might take her off your hands and find a home that's more willing to deal with the problem.

Yanno, i'm here because I am at my wits end, I've tried everything to make my female neutered cat stop peeing, but it's EVERYWHERE and yeah, it's not the same as a child, having a child is a lot easier then dealing with a pissing cat, Put a nappy on the kid, when toilet training you deal with ACCIDENTS not deliberately pssing on everything in the house like your friggin toaster, heater, clothes etc. Nuh uh, as a mother, it's just two different things and not comparable.

Anyway, I am here because I have made an appointment to get the cat put down, I don't want to though.

Weve tried prozax pills for kitty, rules out infections with the vet, ruled out hyperthyroidism, bought feliway (hormone spray) and various other brands of it, nothing works, not cat litter, not sticky tape where they pee,.. she just finds other places.

The cat should be executed immediately for that behavior.

Anyone defending cats should remember that they won't think twice about playing with your toe tag as they wheel you out of your house for the last time. Your dog will actually miss you.
