Grim Milestone by KTK

The 2,000th official US military death in Bush’s war was recorded today.

Democracy in Action and MoveOn.org are organizing candlelight vigils tomorrow night under the slogan “Honor the Fallen” (they emphasize these are not to be overt “protests”, but memorials). You can find one in your location at this Web site.

It should also be noted that CNN reports almost 200 deaths among troops from other nations, as well as over 15,000 non-fatal US casualties. “Iraq Body Count” reports 27,000 – 30,000 officially reported Iraqi civilian deaths (the actual number no doubt much higher).

All this from the wrong war, against the wrong enemy, for reasons that at best were delusions and more often were lies.

#2001 is expected sometime before the end of the day.
