Mythbusters

Mythbusters has rapidly become one of my favorite shows. It simply chronicles the testing of urban myths by a group of special effects experts. They have done everything from testing whether or not toast lands butter-side down to using salsa to dissolve prison bars. Anyone with even an ounce of science geek in their makeup will love the show. And now they have released to the web a handful of experiments that did not make the television screen. Enjoy.

Agreed, it’s one of the best shows on television. And you don’t even need to be at all science-geeky. All you need is some fiber of your being that likes to watch stuff blow up. :)

  2. Stormy Dragon

I’m also a big fan of Jamie Hyneman’s mustache.

  3. SayUncle

It’s a good show. It’s not real science geeky, though.

  4. Ted

I’d say it’s more engineer geek than science geek.

It’s geek, period. And a lot of fun. I like that they have women on their team who are also into mechanical stuff and applied science. It’s great when they destroy and blow stuff up.

Between Mythbusters and Dirty Jobs, I’m slowly moving away from network television altogether. And ditto to Stormy on Jamie’s moustache. He’s just such a _man_ in all good ways.

For the record, they’re replaying the cement truck episode this upcoming Tuesday at 7 PM Central. Set your TiVos, as I’m told this is a must-see.

Oh, boy, yes. The cement truck episode is sooooooo good. It’s the first one I saw.
