Teemu Selanne had the righteous smackdown on Modano (BTW, not all the Americans were whiners, Modano was the KING): the Finns didn’t even play their best game.
When Americans win a sporting event, it’s because we’re the greatest and God has ordained our victory.
When Americans lose it’s because the field was tilted the wrong way and the referees were biased and the crowd was hostile and the hotel was too noisy the night before and the other guys have better training facilities and are secretly supported by their government and because of the flu, and on and on.
We’re bad losers and obnoxious winners.
