Boycott Tim McGraw!
by tgirschMarch 16th, 2006
After all, he violated the First Rule of Country Music by criticizing our president!
“To me, there’s a lot of politics being played and a lot of people trying to put people in bad positions in order to further their agendas,” McGraw, a 38-year-old native of Delhi, La., said after ABC News Radio’s Dan Gordon asked about Katrina.
“When you have people dying because they’re poor and black or poor and white, or because of whatever they are — if that’s a number on a political scale — then that is the most wrong thing. That erases everything that’s great about our country.”
McGraw specifically criticized President Bush. “There’s no reason why someone can’t go down there who’s supposed to be the leader of the free world … and say, ‘I’m giving you a job to do and I’m not leaving here until it’s done. And you’re held accountable, and you’re held accountable, and you’re held accountable.
“‘This is what I’ve given you to do, and if it’s not done by the time I get back on my plane, then you’re fired and someone else will be in your place. ‘”
Why does Tim McGraw hate America? Why is he giving aid and comfort to hurricanes?
If you have any patriotism at all, you’ll burn all of your Tim McGraw stuff, just like you did with all your Dixie Chicks stuff.

you are a moron.
I’d burn it and dixie chicks stuff if I had it just because I hate the music.
No way Tim Mcgraw is the best out there what he spoke came from his heart and I will not be boycott him
Thank you!
are you kidding me? You want to boycot someone because of their opinion? Maybe people should boycot you and your blog bc of your opinions. Wait! they cant do that bc if they did you would have no one to bitch to. Face the facts, Bush isnt as great as you think and Tim Mcgraw was right, the administration has done nothing and it is disgusting. Do you not watch CNN?!
And how could Bush expect anyone to take a job he assigned them - and that he wouldn’t leave until it was done??? The only thing he ever did was drill dry holes in oil fields, make bad baseball trades, and then turned two beautiful countries into bombed out crater-ridden deserts. Oh, yeah. they were deserts before he began, but he did make the craters.
Good heavens! Doesn’t anyone appreciate verbal irony anymore? Most of the commenters seem to have missed the point.
Tim McGraw is a hero, Bush is a friggian stupid ass moron, a spoild rich daddy’s boy who uses scare tactics and the religious right to get re elected. Tim McGraw speaks the truth, and Bush has been lying to us since 2000. Down with Bush and his so called religen, long live Tim McGraw a true American Patriot, and if you Bush lover’s can’t take it go f*ck yourselves you idiots
Tim McGraw is way more of a patriot than stupid Bush. Bush should get bushed out of office. Bush is the reason for 911 and the war in Iraq. He doesn’t car about anyone but himwself and is rich family. Tim Mcgraw is not a bad guy and propebly cars more about the U.S. than Bush. All you Bush loves are stupid idiots for beleiving Bush for 4 years and 5 months.
Tim McGraw and Faith Hill need to take a look at the local government. President Bush has done more than any other President including Bill Clinton X 2. I will never but his CD nor Faith’s anymore. Where did all the money go that the local government got before the hurricane? I am sick of the country stars that go to Hollywood get FAME and all the sudden Bill Clinton supporters. Move to Hollywood Tim this previous fan sold tickets to other democrats…. burn the CD’s of these singers who sold over to the Hollywood freaks.
The more we censor, the more freedom we lose. Why can’t the right wingers see that?
I will give you that Bush was the cause of the war in Iraq and so were all our Congressman who voted to go to war. Part of our balance of power state that a President cannot go to war without congressional approval. I think we went into Iraq half-assed and while be there for years to come because of if. As far as 911 goes-that was Clinton’s fault and his inability to respond to or prevent the attack while he was in office (there were other attacks while Clinton was in office-the Cole bombing, US embassy bombings, the 1st WTC bombing that occurred and if he had taken action then 911 might not have occurred. 911 would have occurred whether Bush or Gore were in office). 911 took more than a few months that Bush was in office to plan that took years.
As for Katrina and Rita-we messed up. New Orleans messed up when they decided to only build levees that would withstand a level 3 hurricane instead of a level 5. No amount of prep work in the weeks leading up to when the hurricanes hit land would have prevented those from breaking-only if they had spent the initial money to build stronger ones would they have had a chance. People living there messed up when they did not evacuate and FEMA messed up when they did not sent transportation for those who were poor and did not have any other means to evacute. People just should not have been there. And FEMA again dropped the ball when they did not provide assistance fast enough so that people that survived did not die waiting for help.
Instead of doing the left-wing/right-wing bashing we need to find a way to improve America so things like 911 and debacles such as the handling after the hurricanes does not happen again. I think we need to stop focusing on solving the world’s problems and worry about our own (poverty, homelessness, health care), only when we have our own issues under control can we help other countries with theirs.
Yeah! We could all organize large groups of concerned citizens and have them call the local country radio stations to have his music banned from the country airways. And while were putting that into place, we should send him tons of hate mail, threaten his life, harass his family and vandalize his property.
Eventually he will have to change his musical genre, and start making more music with Nellie!
Isn’t that the American way?
PS: If we’re going to do this to Tim, we better include Faith. She’s married to the guy. We certainly don’t want her music around to remind us of Tim!
hey i agree onthe dixi chicks but wat tim mcgraw said came from his heart
leave em alone
I used to like Tim Mcgraw, never even thought he was a
liberal democrat. President George W. Bush has done the right
thing to fight terror in Iraq. Remember 911, the terrorists
attacked America first so What the hell America is supposed to do NOTHING? We fight back and defend our great country. Mcgraw hates America, He and Faith stupid Hill should leave th U.S. and live in a communist country. Yes I will boycott Tim Mcgraw.
Tim Mcgraw may be a democrat, but he isn’t a communist. Look at George Wallace, he was a good southern democrat.
George W. Bush has lied to us since 2000.
Bush is the devil and a communist who is friends with Osama Bin Laden. Tim Mcgraw
is a fine person, a great country-western singer and a fine husband to Faith Hill. Mcgraw is far more American than Bush is. Bush is only pretending to be a conservative meanwhile is part of a conspiracy to destroy America and our troops.
I will burn the latest Tim Mcgraw cd simply because it blows. I don’t care about the politics. It should just be music.
Ever thought that he wouldn’t make comment if he weren’t asked for it by people who seem to think he should have an opinion about such things when he really isn’t qualified to make comment at all? He is a singer, that’s it.
BTW - everyone in Australia KNOWS the Bush administration mucked up the Katrina debarcle - Oprah did more than bush did!!
How DARE someone in the public spotlight be critical of the leader of the FREE world.
I think he ought to be punished for excercising his right to free speech!!
If only we could learn to accept our leader without question and loyally follow whatever direction he decided to go in, then we could truly exist as free people.
After all, if the Nazi party thought on an individual basis and respected one another’s opinions…they wouldn’t have done so well!
Burn those CD’s ya’ freaks.
Yes, I completely agree with SpeakFree!!!,
I don’t believe that anyone should be allowed to be critical our government or our country’s leadership, especially in a time of war. I believe we should always show complete unified support for our President and his decisions during these trying times. By constantly criticizing every decision he makes we are only slowing down the wonderful progress he has achieved so far.
He is our Commander-in-Chief, the leader of the free world for God’s sake! We gave him that honorable job to direct this noble nation into the 21st century, and I think we should always show our undying appreciation for the wonderful job that he has been doing.
I for one feel very confident that he knows exactly what he is doing, and we should all be proud that such a great American is at the helm.
The way things have been going so far, I truly believe that he and his fine administration are fully capable of bringing this great land back to what it once was; A VAST ARTIC WASTELAND COVERED IN ICE!!!
support the troops.. they are men and women like us a doing a job…please do not put them down… when people talk bad about the war, those young people feel as if you are talking bad about them…whatever your affliation support are troops
bush is a trure american hero you wouldbe thanking him later on god bless bush
What disturbs me the most is the fact that he’s been giving aid and comfort to hurricanes…
