World Cup Question

I’ve been wondering: Is it just the US who doesn’t give a shit about soccer (football), or are the Canadians lethargic, too?

But tgirsch, you are non-compliant with another important American tenet: we don’t give a shit what Canadians think.
(I say this in jest, but unfortunately for most of us south of the Great White North, it is true.)
WEll, thib posted a link to an article on americans and soccer a bit back. Basically, it was because soccer is boring and stupid.
If it’s not hockey, it’s crap.
I don’t watch soccer because I don’t think my heart could take all the excitement. One player kicks the ball to another player who then trys to kick it to a teammate but someone on the other team kicks it to someone on his team who kicks it to someone else on his team but someone on the other team butts in and kicks it away to someone on his team who then tries to kick it to a teammate but someone on the other team kicks it to someone on his team who kicks it to someone else on his team but someone on the other team butts in and kicks it away to someone on his team who then tries to kick it to a teammate but someone on the other team kicks it to someone on his team who kicks it to someone else on his team but someone on the other team butts in and kicks it away to someone on his team who then tries to kick it to a teammate but someone on the other team kicks it to someone on his team who kicks it to someone else on his team but someone on the other team butts in and kicks it away to someone on his team. How exciting! No wonder people get so excited when someone finally scores.
Think I’ll got watch some paint dry.
All sports are boring and stupid, but soccer, in small doses, is less boring than most of the others. American football, for example, is probably the most boring and stupid sport ever invented.
For there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
Fred:
That was actually funny. Congratulations.
Still, no one has really answered my question. Where’s Manish when I need him?
All professional sports is a waste of time in my book. Just a bunch of grown men playing with balls. What is the thrill in that? And people spending money on that?? (shrugs)
If everyone liked the same things, it would be a very boring world.
Fred, it would be like a Rush Limbaugh radio show..

Fred: You mean it would be a world in which liberals get their butts kicked every day? That’s not boring. That’s a lot of fun.
