What ever happened to teaching your kids to say “Thank You?” I thought the South was supposed to be a polite place. And at the risk of making this a racial/cultural issue, the white kids were the worst about this.
Say “Trick or Treat,” or you’re not getting shit from me. I was shocked at how many kids just looked at us as if we were crazy when we asked them to say it.
If your costume came with a mask, is it too much to ask that you actually wear the thing? Especially if your entire costume is the mask…
If you find yourself interested in dating, you’re too old to be out trick-or-treating. At least try to use a younger sibling as cover.
Speaking of this, wearing your school football or soccer uniform is not a costume…
Don’t let your kids watch adult television! We had (guessing) an eleven-year-old turn to his friend to say, and I quote, “Dee-dee-dee!” (Of course, I inadvertently encouraged this behavior by cracking up, so bad on me…)
This is what this election is about. They Bush Administration invaded a country that was not a threat instead of finishing the job against al Qaeda. They sent troops to Iraq without proper planning or equipment. They are destroying the ability of our armed forces to effectively respond to other threats. They have created a recruitment dream for terrorists. They have deliberately tossed aside Constitutional protections that kept this country safe and strong through foreign invasion, insurrection, tow world wars and a nuclear cold war. They have made torture official American policy.
And the GOP controlled Congress has done nothing to stop them. It is long past time for a change.
Bush, apparently, is going to do an appearance on Rush Limbaugh’s show. Digby sums it up best:
That honor and dignity schtick is now so dead it stinks — they aren’t even pretending anymore. He is sullying the presidency worse than a million adulterous blojobs could ever do. Just days ago that gelatinous blowhard cruelly derided a man with Parkinson’s Disease for lowlife political purposes. And now the President of the United States is going to validate his malevolent cultural poison by appearing on his show.
But if mocking a man with Parkinsons isn’t enough to turn your stomach, here are some more of Rush Limbaugh’s greatest hits.
“Take that bone out of your nose and call me back.”
“Spike, if you’re going to do that, let’s complete the education experience. You should tell them that they should loot the theater, and then blow it up on their way out.”
“The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies.”
Once, in response to a caller arguing that black people need to be heard, Limbaugh responded: “They are 12 percent of the population. Who the hell cares?
Rush has called feminists — you know, the people who want women to have rights of their very own — “feminazis”, as if equality was somehow the moral equivalent of Nazism. He joked about and minimized the abuse of Iraqi prisoners. he thinks that the Democrats are terrorists have common cause.
Rush Limbaugh represents the worst of this country. He is racist, dismissive of woman, an apologist for torture, and regularly engages in the worst kind of character assasination. And George W. Bush, Mr. “Honor and Dignity”, the President of the United States of America, is going to go on that hate-filled show.
Perhaps it is possible, in the same manner that it is possible that a fluffy bunny spends on Saturday night per spring hiding brightly colored eggs in the grass, that Bush will confront Rush on his racism and general immoral behavior. Perhaps. But I wouldn’t count on it. More likely, Bush will stumble through some softball questions, content that he has secured the votes of people who think its fun to mock people with Parkinson’s, who think Hillary had Vince Foster killed, and who think that African Americans should take the bones out of their noses before talking.
Can’t you just smell the honor and decency wafting off the man?
