Gonzo To Step Down
Posted by Kevin

Wow — Gonzales has been something of a firewall between the Bush Administration and serious investigations by both law enforcement and Congress. What makes the timing of this decision interesting is, of course, the fact that the Dems control Congress. Gonzales is either in deep trouble legally or the Bush Administration has come to the conclusion, finally, that he is the lightening rod for criticism and that the scandal press will die down some with his absence. Or, and this is distressingly possible, they figure they can bully the Dems in the senate into approving another lick-spittle lackey more loyal to Bush than to the Constitution.

A note to Senator Feingold: While I understand the principle behind the notion that a president should generally be able to pick his Cabinet members, please remember that this is not a normal Administration and the the Justice Department has already been wracked by years of politicization. It needs a real professional, a man or a women interested in restoring its effectiveness, at its helm. It may not be able to survive in its intended form if its headed by another Bush lackey.

Another “unindicted co-conspirator” has stepped down. Like I said with Rove, “Hope the screen door of the AJ’s office swats you on the buttocks on the way out.” You all know that I have no love lost for old “Speedy Gonzo” Gonzales. A tex-mex goose with two left feet could’ve done a better job in office. Hey, so what is Gonzales going to do now? Nothing left for “our boy” to do but to empty trash at “Taco Bell”. That’s because “Mexiteria” won’t have him.

Hey, that’s my statement and I’m stickin’ with it. I was eatin’ chicken-on-a-stick when I found out and I really enjoyed the news for a change. Gonzales and Rove, what a pair of losers… I’m even marking my calendar on September 17th. We’re well rid of Gonzo.
