Max was smart and acerbic and cu through economic doublespeak like few can. In his blog, he approached economics form the strange idea that what mattered was policy’s effect on real people, not how that policy fit within accepted theory. There aren’t many like him and I am going to miss reading him.
Max really did make me re-think things I held as true and question several assumptions about the world. I am actual more liberals and, more importantly, I think a more critical thinker than before I started reading his blog. He was, in some ways, the best economics, poly sci professor I ever had.
