Royalty was like dandelions. No matter how many heads you chopped off, the roots were still there underground, waiting to spring up again.
It seemed to be a chronic disease. It was as if even the most intelligent person had this little blank spot in their heads where someone had written: "Kings. What a good idea." Whoever had created humanity had left in a major design flaw. It was its tendency to bend at the knees.
-- Terry Pratchett, Feet of Clay
Let’s see.. “bolts” is a twist on “nuts”, which is what McAuliffe allegedly reponded to the surrender request at Bastogne in WWII. The US force there was the 101st. Since 0101 is the two’s complement of 5, and Vick was sentenced to 23 months, the digits of which add up to 5…. …I give up.

Umm…
What is, what a woman feeling the pressure of a biological clock would say to her boyfriend once she find out he’s sterile?
A couple of thoughts on this:
1) This doesn’t help the stereotype that college coaches can’t make the jump to the pros. Unless, the stereotype is true, which it might be. In that case, it doesn’t matter.
2) The way NFL contracts are structured (not for coaches, but in general) kind of engenders disloyalty, but at the same time is necessary. Without guaranteed money, the players have to chase the buck, and ensure that they cash in as big as possible since a player’s prime is such a short window. This was my point in the T.O. nonsense back in Philly. If the guy played like shit, mgmt could reconfigure his contract and salary, making him take a paycut. If he comes out and plays like the best WR in the game (which he basically did that year), why shouldn’t HE be able to say he should get a RAISE. All other T.O. nonsense, aside. Coaches are different, but the general climate of the NFL is going to lead to a lot of tension about contracts, salaries and breaking agreements.
3. He should have really finished the fucking season. I’ll grant that having his team’s best player (actually other than Crumpler, their only above average offensive player, period)sent to jail and incur a PR clusterfuck is not what Petrino signed up for, but what’s really to gain by getting out now. It’s asking to be slammed with little apparent to gain from the cowardice.
