Yes, it is wrong to verify anything Obama says. No clarification needed. Just accept everything he says at face value. As Dr. Phil would say, "How has that worked out for you?"

Why do I get the feeling that if this were a story about a liberal asking for clarification about a story a conservative had told, looking for a gotcha, and the exchange had been roughly the same, Morris would be cheering the terse response?

Hell, 90% of Morris' responses here are similarly dismissive, only with less justification.

P.S. Last I checked, pride is sinful, and boasting about how you "broke the story" is certainly prideful.

It is a great sin to ask if somebody was in a certain infantry division. The man who dared to ask the question is certainly to be condemned for asking such a terrible question. No wonder he received such a rude response. He deserved it. Considering his perfect track record of accuracy and truthfulness, no one should ever have the slightest suspicion that anything Barack Obama says is less than 100% true.

Here is something important. It is not really related to the topic but I found it in the comments to the piece you linked to.

Interestingly, thanks to the PNAC and our corporate overlords, there are now tactical nuclear weopans that have been classified as "safe" foe civilians and approved for use in a conventional theater. This means a general in the field may have access to the weopans and not need any special approval.

Also, the CIA just made a press press release regarding al-Qaida, an outfit they are apparantly intimately fimiliar with.
