This is the sad state of political speeches. People can get away with so much crap. The whole UN Security Council thing really rubs me the wrong way. Two guys make identical statements, but the GOP position (and I have heard it before 9/11/verb/noun said it) is Obama is naive because of Russia being on the Council - yet McCain makes the exact same (and correct) assessment. Sad that lying comes so easy to so many.
It’s a symptom of how bad our media has become. We shouldn’t need a “FactCheck.org” — every major news outlet should have a department that does that sort of work, and they should be reporting on what they find. That they don’t speaks volumes about how little regard accuracy in reporting gets these days.
True dat.
Palin is a blatantly political creature. The GOP knows it can’t win on its own merits so its only hope is to smear Obama past the point of electability. McCain chose “Suddenly Sarah” Palin precisely for her sneering, sarcastic attack style that has proven to work at exactly that kind of smear campaign.
Cry, Cry, and Cry. Get over it Democrats! McCain and Sarah Palin will be our next president and vice president. Also, the GOP doesn’t have to resort to smear tactics to win elections. All we have to do is talk on the issues. That’s where the Democrats lose all the time.
Did you hear Palin’s speech? She barely said anything at all about the issues. All she did was smear! Glass houses, and all that…
And for someone who complains about liberals “lying” all the time, you sure don’t seem to mind when your own side does it.
As always, Fred Clark has a clear explanation from a sane religionist’s perspective. (And I continue to be impressed that he allows me to use such a phrase!)
