Yeah. I DVR-ed the debate, watched the Mets Friday night and yesterday afternoon, then watched the debate last evening.

I’ll tell you who I support for President – Johan motherfucking Santana!!

I’m supporting CC Motherfucking Sabathia! :)

Congrats.

C.C. is a monster!

Good luck! The stick in the eye is that now I have to root for you guys to beat the Phillies!

How about a diplomatic approach? A Sabathia/Santana ticket is a lock to take at least two states!

I was thinking a Schoeneweis/Ayala ticket, myself. :)

That was totally uncalled for. But, you’re right, the race for MVP of the Brew Crew is a three horse affair – C.C. Sabathia, Ryan Braun, and the Mets bullpen!

BTW, just a reminder, Eric Gagne make 21 times as much money as Ryan Braun did this year!

That was totally uncalled for.

But funny nonetheless. :)

Let’s remember, though, that if not for some spectacular collapses by the Milwaukee bullpen, there never would have been any discussion of a Mets/Brewers wild card race.

And, of course, the Brewers’ “reward” for winning the wild card is to go play a playoff series against a team that has absolutely owned them. (The Brew Crew is 1-5 against Philly this year.)

Well, despite your cruel (but funny) barb, I’m rooting for you guys.

Here’s my favorite “if not for…” K-Rod set the MLB record for saves this year, but managed to blow about half a dozen along the way. Brad Lidge. however, was a perfect 41 for 41. If the Phillies had the single season MLB saves record holder on their team this year, instead of the guy they actually had, the Mets would have won the division – even with the 30-ish saves they blew as a team.

Eight of those were for Johan alone. Now, imagine they seal the deal on 3/4 of those. All of a sudden, Johan is 22-7 – tied for the league lead in Wins, leading in ERA and Innings pitched, and is tied for 2nd in Ks.

Well, I saw Johan Santana pitch exactly once in person, and he served up a Grand Slam to the opposing (American League!) team’s pitcher; needless to say, I wasn’t as impressed.

(In his defense, though, there was an error on Wright on the previous play that would have ended the inning, so none of those runs were earned — stupid rule; at a minimum, the “home run” run should have been earned…)
