GOP Embarrasses TN Again
This time by employing a staffer who spread a racist email:
Newscoma posted details of a racist email sent from Sherri Goforth, legislative aid for Sen. Diane Black (R-Gallatin). The email depicts the Presidents of the United States with President Barack Obama as a pair of eyes in a black background.
Becasue that would make Obama a “spook” Get it? Not only is it racist, it is exactly the kind of thing that the person who is doing it thinks makes them look clever but actually tells the entire world that they are the functional equivalent of a failed Turing test.
When confronted with the racist email, what did the staffer say?
When I asked her if she understood the controversial nature of the photo, Goforth would only say she felt very bad about accidentally sending it to the wrong list. When I gave her a second chance to address the controversial nature of the email, she again repeated that she only felt bad about sending it to the wrong list of people.
“I went on the wrong email and I inadvertently hit the wrong button,” Goforth told NIT. “I’m very sick about it, and it’s one of those things I can’t change or take back.”
She was sorry that she sent it to other people besides her racist friends. The TN Dem party has demanded that she be fired, so far without much luck.
I am so tired of this. In the 1960s, the GOP had the chance to banish racist politicians from polite company because the Democratic Party was finally, a century too late, moving to break its dependency on racists and work for civil rights — something that the GOP had been basically founded upon. But they chose instead to embrace the racists the Democrats were trying to be rid of for political gain. We could have marginalized these people long ago. But instead, the GOP helped them keep their legitimacy. It’s as if the last fifty years have passed a large portion of the GOP by.
Newscoma broke this story.

Weird, the front page showed this as having 1 comment, but when I clicked on it there were zero. Of course, now there’s one.
So if I understand correctly, she doesn’t feel bad about having made this transparently racist “joke” about Obama, she just feels bad that other people know about it.
We’ve had non-apology apologies, now we have non-regret regret.
And T., I noticed the same thing: At least some times, the comment count on the post indicates one more comment than there actually is.

How dignified these Republicans are. They have shown to be what they really are, same old tired Dixicrats, not very smart, no class haters.
I see a lot of GOPs are just FURIOUS over our new Prez. They need to curb their anger enough to at least have HALF a thought in their tiny, little brains……
Sour grapes anyone?
